Top 10 Summer Products

Classic Summer Hair
This list of my top 10 summer products will give you a head start on great new products as well as old favorites for your hair & skin!
If you’re not sure what you need to change up from your winter routine then you’ve come to the right place! I subconsciously use different products in summer than in winter as most of you probably do, so use this list to refresh your memory and get ready for summer!
Although I am extremely biased to professional quality products I will give an alternative option to each of the top 10 summer products!
I know that some of you just like to grab something inexpensive that still works and sometimes comparable options hard to find!
Top 10 Summer Products
1. It’s a 10 Miracle Leave In Conditioner

It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Conditioner
If you haven’t been introduced to It’s a 10 yet you have no idea what you are missing! I discovered their products a few years ago and have been hooked ever since. I consider It’s a 10 Leave In Conditioner to be the best all around product that anyone can use.
This leave in conditioner is very lightweight and highly concentrated so you don’t need to use much and it won’t weigh down fine hair. It’s also strong enough for more course or unruly hair types. Just spray it in after towel drying your hair and you’re ready to go!
This conditioner does 10 things instantly:
- Repairs dry damaged hair
- Adds shine
- Smooths & controls frizz
- Seals & protects haircolor
- Flat iron spray & thermal protector
- Detangles
- Stops hair breakage
- Creates silkiness
- Enhances natural body
- Prevents split ends
2. Alterna Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist

Alterna Bamboo “BOHO Waves”
Tousled Texture Mist
I’m always looking for a better texture spray that gives a “just back from the beach” look! I hate to admit that years ago my favorite was by John Frieda and they don’t make it anymore! I love texture sprays for summer because if you have curly or wavy hair blow-drying is basically a waste of time.
If it’s humid in your area like it is here…the minute you walk outside it’s going to be an instant hair disaster! I’ve used gels & mousses but I hate that crunchy look and the feeling that my hair resembles my 9th grade school photo!
Texture spray gives you a great compromise between other curl boosting products. You will get added texture, volume, & shine as well as a laid back summer look.
It can be used on very curly to minimally wavy hair. Just spray on towel dried hair and scrunch! My ends get a little dryer in the summer so sometimes I’ll spray a little It’s a 10 on my ends before using the texture spray.
Texture spray gives you a great compromise between other curl boosting products.
*On Amazon.com for $14.99-$19.99
3. Clinique All About Lips

Clinique “All About Lips”
The search for amazing lip balm is over!
One of my biggest peeves is lip balm that clumps in the corners of your mouth. Clinique’s “all about lips” is a silky, lightweight liquid with a convenient pump that dispenses the perfect amount of product every time.
Another reasons I love this lip smoother is that it absorbs into your skin instead of sitting on your lips(only to gather on your cup or straw). Your lips will feel soft & silky with the added benefit of spf 15 protection from the sun!
All About Lips:
- minimizes fine lines, wrinkles, & sun damage
- smoother & firmer lips
- de-lines & de-flakes lips!
*A quick story about Dr. Pepper Lip Balm because in my opinion there is no alternative to Clinique’s all about lips!
I work with someone who only wears Dr.Pepper lip balm….and she’s been wearing it for years. She loves the hint of color and how it feels(plus…she probably loves Dr.Pepper…so I can relate).
I just wanted to mention that because finding “the best” product for you may be different from what my favorites are.
Choose something that you love and you can afford!
4. Pureology Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner

Pureology Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner
If you have color treated hair but you love the sun then Pureology is a must! I suggest the hydrating line for summer because of extra drying from sun exposure but any Pureology line will work wonders.
This shampoo and conditioner protects your hair from fading due to UV rays while preserving your color. The Pureology hydrating conditioner comes in regular and light for finer hair types. I love the cool tingle of the peppermint for summer!
Although it’s a little on the expensive side it is highly concentrated so you don’t have to use much to get a great lather. It is also activated by water because it doesn’t have any water in it like other shampoos. If you don’t need hydration the perfect 4 platinum, volume, and smoothing lines are great too!
*On Amazon.com starting at $24.99
5. Dandelion by Benefits Cosmetics

Benefit Cosmetics Face Powder
“Dandelion”
For most of us makeup is obsolete during the summer. No one wants to wear foundation or mascara when it’s hot outside(who knows what you will look like at the end of the day). So, I searched several makeup lines for an all around great summer makeup product. Something that is light, adds a touch of glow, and can benefit just about anyone.
Dandelion by Benefit Cosmetics is a “perk-me-up” face powder that’s great for a quick lift in the morning or a refresher after work if you’ve got plans. Sure to brighten anyone’s complexion!
*On a Budget: Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Powder as low as $7.99 on Amazon.com.
6. Bare Escentuals Faux Tan Sunless Tanner

Bare Escentuals
“Faux Tan”
Even though summers coming up that doesn’t mean we all have time to hit the beach or get a few tanning sessions in. I often regret not getting a little sun when it’s time to wear a skirt! Faux Tan is $22.00 on Amazon.com.
I love this sunless tanner because you see color as you put it on, it works in hours or less, and lasts for 5-7 days. It hydrates the skin and doesn’t clog pores or leave streaks!
On a Budget: L’Oreal Sublime Bronze $8.50 on Amazon.com.
7. Redken Blonde Glam Shampoo & Conditioner
THIS LINE HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED 🙁
Review on Redken’s new product line for blonde hair (Blonde Idol) is coming soon!

Redken “Blonde Glam”
I have to include this one for summer products because it is awesome for blondes (everyone wants to go blonde in the summer!). It has an invigorating summery citrus scent and I haven’t found another shampoo that smells like it. It works to protect your hair and will enhance your blonde hairs natural tones. You can usually get a great deal on duos and the small bottles are fairly inexpensive.
Aside from their Blonde Glam shampoo & conditioner you can also find treatments & stylers to complete the look. They have 2 treatments that also tone your blonde: Perfect Platinum (eliminates brassiness) & Rich Vanilla (for warmer blondes). Lastly, Dream Whip is a protective softening mousse for stressed blondes.
*On a Budget: Although there may be a cheaper option nothing smells like Blonde Glam! I would go with John Frieda’s Sheer Blonde Shampoo, Conditioner, & styling products. Starting at $6.50 on Amazon.com.
8. Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Capri

Estée Lauder “Bronze Goddess”
I’m not a huge fan of everything by Estée Lauder but I do love their Bronze Goddess line. This perfume has a light yet noticeable summer scent and is a great change up from what you’ve probably been using for too long! I love switching perfumes and summertime is a great opportunity to do it!
The Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess line also has liquid bronzers, makeup, and sunless tanners.
*On a Budget: Bombshell Summer by Victoria’s Secret $24.99 on Amazon.com.
9. Here Comes The Sun SPF 30 Sunscreen Spray
I don’t know about you but I can’t stand a thick sunscreen that smells like sunscreen! Sure, it rubs in but I look whiter than I did in the dead of winter! I love mist sunscreens that are lightweight because they soak in much easier instead of leaving a gooey layer on your skin.
You’re probably thinking about how unexciting sunscreen is and if you love to tan like i do it’s not the first thing you think about before you go to the beach. It is important and a healthy habit for your skin, so buy something you love and will want to use!
*On a Budget: Hawaiin Tropic Oil Free Spray Sunscreen Lotion $5.50 on Amazon.com.
10. Ahava Aftersun Rehydrating Balm

AHAVA Mineral Suncare
Sometimes I get caught up on the idea that I only need to use after-sun products when I get a little burnt or my skin gets dry. The key to great skin is using something before and after every time you go out in the sun.
If you are constantly hydrating your skin and giving it what it needs you will age slower and have great skin longer. This lotion by Ahava ($25.00) is made from the best ingredients and can be used for your face or body.
*On a Budget: Hawaiin Tropic Lime Coolada After Sun Moisturizing Lotion $7.50 on Amazon.com.
You can find all of these great summer products and more discounted on Amazon.com. If you have a favorite summer product please share in the comment section!
