How to Get Beachy Waves
Who doesn’t love beachy waves…even when you’re not at the beach?
Everyone does, and for some of us it just doesn’t come naturally.
Creating that “just back from the beach” look isn’t easy without the salt water, ocean breeze, and a touch of sand!
Here are my top 5 favorite products that will help you out along with some pointers to make styling a breeze!
How to Get Beachy Waves
1. Sea Salt Texture Spray by Julep
Sea water infused with a combination of marine botanicals that provide intense moisture and essential nourishment (paraben-free!). Protects hair from sun damage while creating ocean-kissed, tousled waves!
Tip: If your hair looks great with a texturizing spray, but it is noticeably dry then you should use it with a gloss for your ends.
Try Bamboo Beach Sunshine Spray by Alterna for slightly dry ends, and for moderate to very dry ends use a serum.
JULEP Sea Salt Texture Spray- $22
2. Bamboo Beach Summer Ocean Waves by Alterna
Alterna’s #1 summer styling product! Ocean Waves is a weightless texturizing spray that provides “just back from the beach” hair!
Tip: If you hair looks great when you first “scrunch” it, but doesn’t last very long, then you may want to use a soft hold gel or mousse with any texturizing spray product.
Alterna Bamboo Beach Summer Ocean Waves- $22
3. Surf Spray by Bumble and Bumble
This spray is salt-infused for a sexy, beachy, windswept texture even when you’re not at the beach! Surf Spray adds body, has a light hold, and a matte finish.
Tip: Work through damp or dry hair and let it dry naturally or blow-dry with a diffuser.
For more defined waves , pair it with a texturizing cream or soft hold gel!
Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray- $27
4. Soleil Beach Waves Tousling Spray by Fekkai
This sheer sea-salt infused spray gives hair sexy surf-kissed texture and volume! It’s also infused with sunflower and seed oil to prevent dryness.
Tip: To make beach-worthy waves even when the sea is far away…mist on hair, then scrunch with your hands while it drys!
Fekkai Soleil Beach Waves Tousling Spray- $20
5. Beach Blonde Sea Waves by John Frieda
This ones for all of you that prefer to not spend as much on products (non-professional of course). I decided to include this spray because it was my absolute favorite before I started my journey into cosmetology. They stopped making it for a while and I was devastated! It was being sold on eBay for more than the price of professional products because everyone wanted it.
Now it’s back, so get it while you can!
Tip: Sea Waves is not as light of a hold as the other products I mentioned. It’s not quite as hard as a gel spray, but your hair will be a little more stiff. This is great for those of you that need the extra hold!
John Frieda Sea Waves Sea Salt Spray- $9
