How to Make Your Haircolor Last Longer
Not sure how to make your haircolor last longer?
There are tons of ways to extend the life of your haircolor!
If you’re someone that just can’t wear a hat when you’re in the sun, or you wash your hair multiple times per day then your color doesn’t stand a chance.
It’s important to use quality products, UV protectants, etc. in order to maintain your haircolor. Not just because you want it to look richer for a longer period of time, but also because you want to prevent damage….now and in the future.
Whether or not your haircolor fades drastically…you will probably still go in for a touch up every 4-8 weeks (depending on the color service and your hair). If your haircolor fades a lot then your stylist will need to freshen up those ends every time in order to maintain a rich and fresh looking color.
The more your hair has faded, the more processing time you will need to refresh the ends. Methods of refreshing the ends vary from stylist to stylist, so hopefully your hairstylist is doing it the right way (which does less damage).
The proper way to refresh your haircolor when you get a re-touch should be done with a completely different formula than the one that is applied to your regrowth. It should not be permanent unless your hair has faded like the swatch in the photo on the right. Even then, it shouldn’t be refreshed with permanent color every time….that’s bad for your hair. So, if your stylist is using the leftover color to refresh those ends (for more than a few minutes) then you need to take extra care of your hair!
So, you’re using a QUALITY PROFESSIONAL color care shampoo and UV protecting styling products….but your color is still fading fast? It could be caused by your everyday bad hair habits and there’s a great product that will help!
