Balayage Hair Color
Have you been thinking about getting balayage hair color? It’s pretty popular right now, and although people ask me about it all the time I hadn’t considered it for myself!
I usually do my own haircolor, but lately I’ve been wanting to treat myself. It’s hard as a certified haircolorist to put the fate of my hair in someone else’s hands, so after pondering about the idea for several months I called someone that I trust.
I used to work with Dallas and I had seen a lot of great haircolor photos popping up from her Facebook page. All of her clients hair looked beautiful, and I felt that she could be a certified haircolorist if she ever got the opportunity to take the exams. So, that was enough for me to book an appointment!
I’m sharing this story because so many of my readers comment or contact me about how to find a great hairstylist. Or, they’re complaining about how all of their previous hairstylists have disappointed them, so they just don’t trust anyone and resort to doing their haircolor at home.
Let me just say this…even a mediocre haircolorist can do a better job than you can do yourself in the bathroom with a box of color! The main reason why clients leave unhappy is because of a poor consultation. Ask your friends for recommendations, look at their “hair works of art” online, book an appointment, and give descriptive details (or photos) to your hairstylist. That’s how you get great haircolor and leave the salon happy!
If you think you can get a look like this from a box…then you are sadly mislead. I feel sorry for people that have high expectations when it comes to box color.

Dallas used ORIBE Dry Texturizing Spray and ORIBE Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray. ORIBE products are quite pricey, so I went for the ColorProof styling product this time 🙂
Here’s what I got instead…
I was hoping to get 7 Seconds Leave-In Conditioner by UNITE, but they just stopped carrying the line! Sometimes that’s a good thing and it forces us to try something new! Instead, I went for ColorProof CrazySmooth Plush Locks. It’s great for an everyday styling product and has a little more hold than most blow-dry lotions.
