How to cut your bangs is one of the top ten most searched topics on my blog. I have clients that cut their own bangs and some that wouldn’t dare try, so I understand that everyone won’t just “leave it to the pros”. Before you start snipping you might want to read To Bang or Not to Bang for some great insight on deciding whether or not to get bangs!

While I don’t recommend cutting your own bangs, I came across an article on Ogle School’s website that’s somewhat thorough in providing at-home instructions. I’m sharing it for those of you that do everything DIY.

*Please know that this method of cutting side-swept bangs is not how I do it in the salon. They are simply providing an easier way to do it yourself!




How to Cut Your Bangs


 

Want to know how to cut bangs all on your own? Wouldn’t it be nice to know how to cut bangs? Isn’t it such a drag having to go to the salon only to get your bangs trimmed? It’s not only a waste of time, it’s a waste of money too.

Well, the truth is, you can cut your own bangs at the comfort of your home. And once you learn the basic tricks, you can trim your bangs whenever you want to as well.

Are you ready to get started?

Step 1:

Comb back the hair on your crown. After that, push the rest of your hair back and tie everything into a ponytail. This should keep any stray hair away from the face. After that, comb down your bangs.
