Julep Matte Lip Mousse

So far…Julep Matte Lip Mousse is my absolute favorite matte lip color!

I’ve always been a big fan of lip tints and sheer glosses, but it’s so hard to find something that’s not too shiny/sticky. I know…you’re thinking that lipstick is the answer…but it’s not. I don’t enjoy wearing lipstick(maybe it’s the taste or the smell) so this new matte lip mousse is a perfect compromise!

Before I tell you all about this new product and why I love it I want to first say that I was not asked to write a review on Julep Matte Lip Mousse. I do get lots of requests to do product reviews, but sometimes I voluntarily spread the word because I’m so excited about a new product(sometimes they’re old products, but new to me 🙂 ).

What I like about Julep Matte Lip Mousse:

• It lasts all day! I apply it in the morning and it still looks great in the evening.
• The applicator is like a lip gloss wand.
• It’s moisturizing and does not look dry like other matte lip products

What I don’t like about Julep Matte Lip Mousse:

• It only comes in 8 shades.
• It’s hard to get off(not a particularly bad quality!).

Julep’s Matte Lip Mousse is only $16 if you’re a Julep Maven, or $20 if you’re not a member. I’ve been a Julep Maven since August 2014!

Julep sends me a monthly box full of goodies and I can swap out products or shades each month if I don’t like what’s been chosen according to my style profile. This is the only beauty product monthly subscription that I have. I don’t subscribe to New Beauty, Ipsy, or Birch Box because they’re more expensive and usually have sample sizes. Julep’s box includes full size products that I actually want. If you’re someone that likes to try new products in sample size, then the other subscription options are perfect for you!

I’m also a member of a monthly wine club, but I’ll give you the scoop on that later!

Julep is the only “box subscription” that I’ve stuck with, and I’ve tried plenty of them! Overall, I think that’s because I feel that it’s the best value for what I pay compared to all other box subscriptions.

FabFitFun is double the price of Julep Maven boxes, and while they claim that it’s such a great deal, I was not impressed with that box. You can try it for half off your first box(that’s what made me try it), but I was seriously so disappointed! Even though you get fewer products in the Julep box…they are better and they are truly customized to your needs and wants!
